CHRIS BOTTI & FRIENDS NIGHT SESSIONS LIVE IN CONCERT

Chris Botti's star-studded performance featuring Sting and Shawn Colvin, was taped live at the historic El Rey Theater in Los Angeles in December, 2001 for air on DIRECTV.

Shawn Colvin is featured on the Sting-penned "All Would Envy" and her original "The Facts About Jimmy." Sting performs "In The Wee Small Hours" and "Moon Over Bourbon Street".

Additional DVD special features include a Photo Gallery, and interviews with Chris Botti, Sting and Shawn Colvin.

"Sting's performance was spectacular and Shawn's contribution was sensational creating a night of musical magic. I've been fortunate to have played with some fantastic performers in recent years - both on stage and on my albums, but this night stands among the most memorable," says the trumpeter.

The night was a critical success as well. LA TIMES Jazz critic, Don Heckman called Botti, "Visually charismatic, musically engaging and appealingly personable."

Phil Gallo's Daily Variety said, "Botti's greatest strength is his beautiful articulation and a trumpet style that grounds his generally atmospheric backing. He plays neither jazz nor rock -- Botti's a mood setter -- and his television show, if it reflects the running order of the concert, will showcase an artist capable of moving an audience by adjusting the timbres and tempos, not only song to song, but often within a single piece of music."

DIRECTOR WILLIAM WYLER DELVES INTO THE MIND OF A PSYCHOPATH IN THE COLLECTOR-- COMING TO DVD FOR THE FIRST TIME OCT. 1

Twenty-five years before Hannibal Lecter stalked Clarice Starling onscreen, legendary film director William Wyler offered audiences a chilling portrait of a psychopathic killer in THE COLLECTOR, which makes its first-ever appearance on DVD Oct. 1 from Columbia TriStar Home Entertainment. Wyler, who was nominated for 12 Oscars and received four during his career, directs Oscar nominees Terence Stamp ("Billy Budd;" "The Adventures of Priscilla, Queen of the Desert") and Samantha Eggar ("Dr. Dolittle") in this eerie and psychologically penetrating examination of a young man whose hobby is collecting butterflies. His demure façade cracks when he meets a strikingly pretty woman and decides to add her to his collection.

Based on the novel by John Fowles, THE COLLECTOR marked a coming of age both for Wyler and for the Hollywood studio system, which had rarely attempted to tackle story subjects as disturbing as the violent mind of a murderer. Wyler, the most nominated director in Oscar history, worked with writers Stanley Mann and John Kohn to deliver a deliberately paced film that became one of the most controversial releases of its time.

THE COLLECTOR was nominated for three Academy Awards - Best Actress, Best Director and Best Screenplay - and both Stamp and Eggar received top acting honors at the Cannes Film Festival for their work in the film. Eggar also won the year's Golden Globe award as best actress, and the film was nominated for three additional Golden Globes: Best Picture, Best Director and Best Screenplay.

Nearly 40 years after its initial release, THE COLLECTOR continues to influence a generation of filmmakers. Columbia TriStar Home Entertainment offers Wyler's landmark thriller in a digitally mastered, widescreen format that preserves all THE COLLECTOR's unexpected shocks and surprises.

THE COLLECTOR: A Columbia Pictures Presentation. Also Starring Maurice Dallimore, Mona Washbourne. Produced by Jud Kinberg and John Kohn. Screenplay by Stanley Mann and John Kohn. Based on the Novel by John Fowles. Directed by William Wyler.

SYNOPSIS

A team of government scientists working at the Crystal Lake Research Facility has finally captured the seemingly indestructible killer Jason Voorhees (Kane Hodder). In order to contain Jason, they plan to freeze him in cryogenic suspension; but, as usual, things go horribly wrong and he breaks free to resume his murderous ways. Rowan (Lexa Doig) the sole survivor of Jason’s latest rampage, manages to complete the cryogenic suspension of Jason, but at the last moment, is frozen in time along with him.

Flash forward to the year 2455. Old Earth is now a contaminated abandoned planet, and humans have returned to research the artifacts of the lost civilization. When they enter the ancient grounds of Crystal Lake, they discover two frozen ancestors – Jason and Rowan. They return with the bodies to their starship and are able to revive Rowan, and they come face-to-face with a shocking, totally new form of evil as Jason comes back to life and begins to silently stalk them through the corridors of the spacecraft.

THE LADY AND THE DUKE SUSPENSEFUL, VISUALLY OPULENT DRAMA SET AGAINST THE FRENCH REVOLUTION PREMIERES ON DVD OCT. 1

From highly acclaimed master director Eric Rohmer (Tales of Four Seasons) comes THE LADY AND THE DUKE, a French Revolution era story based on the little-known memoirs of a Scottish aristocrat and the very troubled times in which she lives. The film debuts on DVD and videocassette Oct. 1.

The film was also nominated for two Cesar Awards (The French equivalent to the Academy Awards), for best costume design and best production design as well as a European Film Award nomination for director Rohmer.

Beautiful aristocrat Grace Elliott (Lucy Russell, Following) enjoys her comfortable upper middle-class life and warm friendship with her former lover, the Duke of Orleans (Jean-Claude Dreyfus, The City of Lost Children), until the turbulent French Revolution of the 1790s frighteningly begins. Their relationship unravels as Grace risks her life taking in a fugitive against the Duke's wishes. Soon, Grace urges the Duke not to make a horrifying decision.

Ultimately, she's unable to prevent several bloody fates, including the possibility of her own. This visually breathtaking film uses hand-painted sets that depict 18th Century Paris, the English lady's home, and the surrounding countryside with a vivid digital effect that looks like a

Realist oil painting brought to life.
