CHRIS BOTTI & FRIENDS NIGHT SESSIONS LIVE IN CONCERT
Chris Botti's star-studded performance featuring Sting and Shawn Colvin, was taped live at the historic El Rey Theater in Los Angeles in December, 2001 for air on DIRECTV.
Shawn Colvin is featured on the Sting-penned "All Would Envy" and her original "The Facts About Jimmy." Sting performs "In The Wee Small Hours" and "Moon Over Bourbon Street".
Additional DVD special features include a Photo Gallery, and interviews with Chris Botti, Sting and Shawn Colvin.
"Sting's performance was spectacular and Shawn's contribution was sensational creating a night of musical magic. I've been fortunate to have played with some fantastic performers in recent years - both on stage and on my albums, but this night stands among the most memorable," says the trumpeter.
The night was a critical success as well. LA TIMES Jazz critic, Don Heckman called Botti, "Visually charismatic, musically engaging and appealingly personable."
Phil Gallo's Daily Variety said, "Botti's greatest strength is his beautiful articulation and a trumpet style that grounds his generally atmospheric backing. He plays neither jazz nor rock -- Botti's a mood setter -- and his television show, if it reflects the running order of the concert, will showcase an artist capable of moving an audience by adjusting the timbres and tempos, not only song to song, but often within a single piece of music."

MR. DEEDS
SynopsisIn
MR. DEEDS, Longfellow Deeds (Adam Sandler) is a simple-minded, small-town pizzeria owner whose life is turned upside down when a long-lost relative leaves him an inheritance of $40 billion. In the tiny town of Mandrake Falls, New Hampshire, Deeds has become a local celebrity famous for reciting offbeat but hilarious greeting card poetry. Life is good as the owner of the town's only pizza parlor until Chuck Cedar (Peter Gallagher), a sleezy corporate mogul and his crony Anderson (Erick Avari) come to whisk Deeds and his $40 billion inheritance away to corporate America.
It's a rags-to-riches story that quickly puts Deeds in a full-fledged media frenzy. Leading the pack of tabloid reporters salivating for the story is Babe Bennett (Winona Ryder), a beautiful TV producer who devises a devious plan to get the scoop and falls for Deeds in the process.
Deeds moves to Manhattan to take over his newly inherited business and immediately shakes things up, letting everyone know that even though he's a billionaire, he's still the same small town guy. As sleezy Cedar tries to take over Deeds' empire, Deeds learns what life is all about and sets out to prove that money changes everything.but not everyone.

DIRECTOR WILLIAM WYLER DELVES INTO THE MIND OF A PSYCHOPATH IN THE COLLECTOR-- COMING TO DVD FOR THE FIRST TIME OCT. 1
Twenty-five years before Hannibal Lecter stalked Clarice Starling onscreen, legendary film director William Wyler offered audiences a chilling portrait of a psychopathic killer in
THE COLLECTOR, which makes its first-ever appearance on DVD Oct. 1 from Columbia TriStar Home Entertainment. Wyler, who was nominated for 12 Oscars and received four during his career, directs Oscar nominees Terence Stamp ("Billy Budd;" "The Adventures of Priscilla, Queen of the Desert") and Samantha Eggar ("Dr. Dolittle") in this eerie and psychologically penetrating examination of a young man whose hobby is collecting butterflies. His demure façade cracks when he meets a strikingly pretty woman and decides to add her to his collection.Based on the novel by John Fowles,
THE COLLECTOR marked a coming of age both for Wyler and for the Hollywood studio system, which had rarely attempted to tackle story subjects as disturbing as the violent mind of a murderer. Wyler, the most nominated director in Oscar history, worked with writers Stanley Mann and John Kohn to deliver a deliberately paced film that became one of the most controversial releases of its time.THE COLLECTOR
was nominated for three Academy Awards - Best Actress, Best Director and Best Screenplay - and both Stamp and Eggar received top acting honors at the Cannes Film Festival for their work in the film. Eggar also won the year's Golden Globe award as best actress, and the film was nominated for three additional Golden Globes: Best Picture, Best Director and Best Screenplay.Nearly 40 years after its initial release,
THE COLLECTOR continues to influence a generation of filmmakers. Columbia TriStar Home Entertainment offers Wyler's landmark thriller in a digitally mastered, widescreen format that preserves all THE COLLECTOR's unexpected shocks and surprises.THE COLLECTOR
: A Columbia Pictures Presentation. Also Starring Maurice Dallimore, Mona Washbourne. Produced by Jud Kinberg and John Kohn. Screenplay by Stanley Mann and John Kohn. Based on the Novel by John Fowles. Directed by William Wyler.THE COLLECTOR
